WWE Survivor Series: WarGames was a giant show this year in Petco Park. San Diego was full of WWE fans, and John Cena was on the card. That being said, his retirement tour brought a ton of attention.

The story for the match was straightforward. John Cena won the title and was willing to give Dominik Mysterio another shot. After Mysterio interrupted Cena on Raw, Triple H ordered a title match, and Cena won. The next week, Mysterio again confronted Cena and asked for a rematch. Cena offered to defend the title that night, but Mysterio chose to face him in San Diego at Survivor Series: WarGames, and Cena agreed. After that, Dominik Mysterio has done the lifting on television for this match, as he brought in a little person as John Cena in the process.

This match was historic, as it was John Cenas final premium live event match. It also fell just two weeks before his final match ever at Saturday Nights Main Event in Washington, DC.

John Cena has 100 wins at premium live events, second only to The Undertaker, and hes performed at 177 of them. This puts Cena with a winning record, and fans were over a 103 decibel level when he made his way out. Thats equal to a jet flying over your head.

When this match got started, Dominik Mysterio got the upper hand, and John Cena sold for a bit. Although Cena did mount a comeback, Mysterio kept the pressure on him, and he also used some mind games. Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez were also at ringside to get in Cenas way, so Dirty Dom could jump him.

At one point, Dominik Mysterio went for a hurricanrana off the barricade, but he fell strange on his shoulder. The referee checked on him, and then he went to speak with Cena before calling the medics for Dominik Mysterio. Raquel and Roxanne also knelt beside him as they played a replay of the injury spot again.

Suddenly, Raquel Rodriguez jumped in the ring and Roxanne Perez nailed a Pop Rocks as Dom laid at ringside. They set Cena up for the 6-1-9 and suddenly, Dom woke up, and he hit the move, landed a frog splash, and he pinned Cena. However, the referee was very upset about Dom faking an injury, so he ejected Roxanne and Raquel from the ringside area.

At that point, John Cena started to hit his 6 moves of doom. Cena got the STFU on Dominik, but he got to the ropes. Then Dom did the bit where he unzipped his boot and Cena pulled it off. Dom was able to hit another 6-1-9 and a frog splash, but Cena kicked out. Then Cena hit an AA, but Dom kicked out at two.

The referee accidentally took a shoulder tackle from John Cena. Then JD McDonagh and Finn Balor ran down to put the boots to the GOAT. Then Cena got the knees up when JD went for a top rope move, and he moved out of the way of a Coup De Gras. He hit a double AA on Finn and JD after that.

Then Liv Morgan came out. This was a huge surprise, and she immediately stood up to Dominik. Liv Morgan was off WWE after a shoulder injury that required surgery, with the injury written into a storyline attack by Rhea Ripley. She went through surgery and rehab and was expected to return in early 2026, though some rumors hinted at a possible earlier comeback. Now, we know that her return was Survivor Series: WarGames.

Morgan laid Dirty Dom out with a slap, and then she turned to John Cena with a big smile. She jumped in Cenas arms before she kicked him in the balls. Dominik Mysterio hit a 6-1-9 after that and then Liv nailed Cena with his title. After that, Dom nailed his frog splash and he won the match. The two celebrated in a big way after that. Meanwhile, John Cena stuck around afterward to get a standing ovation from fans.
