Hello everyone, welcome to the honor club! This weeks episode was available on YouTube, aired on Friday instead of Thursday and featured three womens matches.
First, around the thirteen-minute mark: we had Death Ryders Marina Shafir facing Top Flights baddie Leila Grey.
With some hard-hitting kicks, Shafir took control, and unbothered, she beat Leila for most of the match. Grey was able to get in some offense, but still, it was not enough, and ended up tapping out to Marinas Mothers Milk.
Next up we had a pure rules match between Deonna Purrazzo and Ashley Vox. For those in the unknown, these are the main rules in a pure rules match (according to Wikipedia).
1. Each wrestler has three rope breaks to stop submission holds and pinfalls. After a wrestler exhausts their rope breaks, submission and pin attempts on or under the ropes by their opponent are considered legal.
2. No closed-fist punches to the face are permitted, while open-handed slaps or chops to the face are.
3. Punches to the rest of the body are allowed, excluding low blows.
4. The first use of a closed fist to the face receives a warning. The second use of a closed fist to the face results in disqualification.
5. The title can change hands via disqualification and countout.
6. Outside interference will result in automatic termination from the roster for the wrestler that interferes.
7. If a title match reaches its time limit without a winner being declared, the winner is decided by a panel of three judges.
The match went longer than expected, a good exhibition match for Purrazzo and for Vox ahead of the Pure Rules Championship Tournament. La Virtuosa ended up winning with the Venus De Milo.
Post-match, Queen Aminata cut a promo saying that she is taking a closer look at the competition of the pure rules title tournament and stating that she hopes to face Serena soon to prove that this student is now the master.
Last but not least, we had our current ROH Womens World Television Champion, Red Velvet, in another proving ground match, this time against Laynie Luck.
This match was pretty good and had a nice back and forth between the two women. Laynie impressed the crowd and her opponent, making her get out of the ring to recover.
The champ proved why shes been so dominant with some tricks of her own. After some near falls from both sides, Velvet finished the match with her somersault cutter.
This will be it for tonight; you can watch the newest episode right now on YouTube. Until next time!
