Britt Baker has been missing from AEW programming since November 2024, and while fans have spent the past year speculating on her statusranging from injury to a possible WWE jumpit now looks like her absence comes down to one simple fact: there are still no plans to bring her back.
Back in November 2025, Fightfuls Sean Ross Sapp reported that although Baker was still signed to AEW, there are currently no creative plans in motion to bring her back. That update came on the heels of Tony Khan confirming she was still with the company despite her deleting AEW mentions from social media and skipping a Pittsburgh showsomething that caught fans attention, given the citys connection to her brand. Khan tried to calm speculation at the time, stating:
But now, Sean Ross Sapp has doubled down with an January 3, 2026 update during his Fightful Select Q&A Show. And this one might put to rest any lingering hopes of an imminent return.
Asked if there were any internal conversations about her return, Sapp made it clear:
Britt Bakers last AEW match was a win over Penelope Ford on Dynamite in November 2024. She has reportedly been cleared to wrestle for some time, but AEW has yet to put her into any creative plans.
At this point, Bakers contract status might not matter if the company simply isnt interested in using her. Whether its a slow-burn setup or a disconnect behind the scenes, one thing is becoming clearthe Doctor might not be making house calls anytime soon.
Do you think AEW is making a mistake by keeping Britt Baker off TV this long? Should they bring her back for a storyline reboot, or has her time at the top passed? Sound off in the comments below.
