Bruce Prichard didnt just return to WWE in 2019 he got pulled back in by Vince McMahon in a way even he didnt expect.
On a recent episode of Something To Wrestle, Prichard broke down the surprising circumstances around his WWE comeback after more than a decade away. It all started with a meeting at the Elimination Chamber in Houston, a city Prichard was already living in at the time. Just one month after telling Vince McMahon hed never work for him again, Prichard was asked to meet backstage and what followed was vintage Vince.
That last part caught Prichard off guard. At the time, he was successfully running his podcast empire and didnt want to lose that freedom but Vince had no intention of changing his routine. He just wanted him back in creative.
Even so, Prichard wasnt going to bite unless it was locked in. And when he asked for a written offer, McMahons reaction was classic.
Eventually, Prichard gave in to the deal because, frankly, it was too good to pass up.
Prichard currently holds the title of Executive Director CWT (Creative Writing and Talent) in WWE. Though he reportedly took temporary leave in late 2024 for family reasons, he resurfaced in November 2025 on his podcast and has been actively speaking on WWEs creative direction ever since.
What do you think did Bruce Prichard make the right call coming back to WWE under Vince McMahons terms? Should more wrestling veterans be allowed to keep outside projects while working behind the scenes? Let us know your take in the comments below.
