Matt Hardy appeared to shut the door on all speculation about the Hardys future in TNA with a single Christmas-time tweet. But a new update suggests the situation may not be as finalized as it sounded.
Earlier this week, Matt took to social media to address growing questions about whether he and Jeff Hardy had re-signed with TNA Wrestling ahead of the companys January 15, 2026 AMC relaunch.
That message seemed to settle things immediately, especially after days of debate fueled by prior reporting that suggested new contracts were not yet in place. Matts wording implied the deals had already been signed and finalized long ago.
However, Fightful Select has now issued an update that complicates the picture. According to the report, TNA sources are pushing back on Matts characterization of the situation:
That update stands in contrast to Matts public statement and echoes earlier Fightful reporting, which noted that while TNA had secured several short-term agreements, some major names including the Hardys were not officially locked in yet.
The confusion had already been building after TNA President Carlos Silva tweeted that he looked forward to working with Matt and Jeff for years to come. At the time, sources cautioned that Silvas optimism should not be taken as confirmation that contracts were fully executed.
