According to Fightful Select, TNA World Tag Team Champions Matt and Jeff Hardy have not officially signed new contracts with the promotion. While previous reports and public comments led many to believe the deals were already done, sources within TNA confirm otherwise.
The Hardy Boys were instrumental in helping TNA secure its new television deal with AMC. In fact, TNA President Carlos Silva recently tweeted that he looked forward to working with the Hardys for years to come. However, a TNA source clarified Silvas tweet was based on optimismnot finalized contracts.
As of now, neither Matt nor Jeff Hardy have officially signed a new deal. That said, all signs point to something being finalized soon. TNA officials are hoping to ink the legendary duo to long-term contracts. Internally, its widely believed that Matt and Jeff are the highest-paid talent on the entire roster, which speaks to their importance in the companys relaunch strategy.
TNAs current approach with many of its starsincluding short-term three-month dealsis designed to allow flexibility during the AMC transition. But when it comes to the Hardys, its clear TNA wants long-term stability.
