
Iga Swiatek may be one of Elena Rybakina's biggest rivals, but that is not preventing the world No. 5 from being extremely honest and admitting that the Pole is a more consistent and accomplished player than she is.
Over the last couple of years, a Rybakina and Swiatek matchup has turned into one of the best on the Tour. With her aggressive and flat shots, the Kazakh has the game that makes things tricky for the Polish tennis star and has beaten the world No. 2 five times in their 11 matches. During the 2023 season, the Kazakh even went a perfect 3/3 in her matches against the six-time Grand Slam champion.
While Rybakina has had success against Swiatek, she only has one Grand Slam title in her collection and has never been ranked higher than No. 3 in the world. "We compete every time, but when it comes to statistics, I realize that Iga is definitely better in terms of consistency. Looking at how many victories she has achieved at such a young age, as well as for seasons from last year, or even two years ago - her results are fantastic," the world No. 5 told Kazakh media, via Polish tennis journalist Dominik Senkowski.
This year, Rybakina was beaten by Swiatek in Doha, the French Open, and Cincinnati, but beat the Pole en route to winning the WTA Finals.
