Carlos Alcaraz certainly had more time than expected to practice in view of the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, scheduled at the Inalpi Arena from 9 to 16 November. The world number 2 was eliminated by Cameron Norrie in the second round of the Paris Masters 1000, confirming that he does not have a good feeling with this tournament (where he has never gone beyond the quarterfinals), and above all he revealed his usual weaknesses in indoor conditions.
The one against Norrie last Tuesday was undoubtedly one of his worst performances in 2025, which still represents the best year of his career, especially from the point of view of continuity. The 22-year-old Spaniard raised his level from April onwards and won eight titles, including two Slams and three Masters 1000.
Alcaraz still has two goals
The star from Murcia still has two goals before the end of this year: the ATP Finals and the Davis Cup Finals. Immediately after being defeated in Paris, the former world number 1 made his return to Spain and began practicing with the utmost seriousness together with his coaches Juan Carlos Ferrero and Samuel Lopez.

This edition of the Finals will be particularly important for Carlitos, as his result in Turin will also influence the race to end the year at the top of the ATP rankings. In addition, only two Spanish players managed to prevail at the year-end Masters (Manolo Orantes and Alex Corretja). The six-time Grand Slam champion needs at least 500 points to be sure of finishing the season as number 1, which is why he will have to try to win three matches at the Inalpi Arena next week.
According to reports from 'MARCA' in these hours, Carlitos is set to arrive in Turin on Wednesday in the early afternoon and - after putting down his luggage at the hotel - he will immediately go for his first practice session. The draw ceremony is scheduled for Thursday 6 November and the top two players in the world will only be able to face each other starting from the semifinals.
