The final of the Paris Masters 1000 between Jannik Sinner and Felix Auger-Aliassime crowned the Italian champion yesterday, with the prediction that was fully respected despite the Canadian ace putting in an excellent performance at the 'Dfense Arena'.
The 24-year-old from Sesto Pusteria had started the last Masters 1000 of the season with several doubts related to his physical condition and had struggled more than expected in the first rounds, but his level rose exponentially starting from the quarterfinals allowing him to win the fifth Masters 1000 of his young career (the first this season).

Thanks to this amazing result, Jannik has returned to the top of the ATP rankings by overtaking his huge rival Carlos Alcaraz again and the two current leaders of men's tennis are set to compete for the trophy at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin next week. If he were to end 2025 as No.1, it would be a truly extraordinary achievement for the four-time Grand Slam champion who had to miss four Masters 1000 this year due to the three-month ban he was given by WADA between February and May.

Aliassime on the other hand can be really proud of his run in the French capital and has a very good chance of qualifying for the Finals. The Canadian player who returned to express his best tennis in the last part of this season decided to skip the Metz ATP 250, wanting to recharge his batteries after an intense run. He must hope that Italian star Lorenzo Musetti does not lift the trophy in Athens this week.
Speaking to 'Eurosport', WTA legend Justine Henin broke silence on the final of the last Masters 1000 of the season: "Sinner got the break already in the first game and this made the first set a bit predictable, but the second set was more balanced and exciting. The Italian ace had more chances, even if the Canadian could have done more at 5-4 40-40. After that small scare, Jannik made the difference in the tiebreak."
