WWE pays out a lot of money to talent, but that doesnt mean they are giving everything they can. There is a bottom line to consider, and that has apparently called for reducing royalty checks.

Kevin Nash has already come forward to admit that his WWE royalty checks arent what they used to be. Now, another former Superstar has joined that list.

In a new YouTube video on his channel, former WWE Superstar David Otunga dove into the idea of pro wrestlers starting a new union. After all, Otunga is still getting checks from WWE, although theyre not what they used to be.

Kevin Nash said his checks used to be large before TKO took over, but they became smaller afterward. He also said WWE stopped including the usual breakdown of sales and royalties that used to come with the payments. David Otunga responded that he had a similar experience.

David Otunga went on to say that he does not expect the same royalties Nash receives, but he still noticed a decrease and a lack of transparency. He said this raises questions about how TKO is handling talent payments after the merger.

WWE royalty checks have also lost a few streams of revenue. After DVD sales became a thing of the past, those Superstars arent getting any payout for that money. Streaming has also made things cheaper all around, especially if there is a loophole to not pay someone, if the idea of streaming wasnt even an idea when it was signed.

David Otunga has been vocal about WWE in recent memory. He broke apart their independent contractor deals, and proposed that they wouldnt stand up in court if they were really challenged. That being said, as a Harvard educated attorney, Otunga also offered to fix those contracts for WWE if they want.
