Jannik Sinner is preparing for the seventh Masters 1000 event of the season in Cincinnati. World no. 1 is training in Monte Carlo, with his Davis Cup teammate Matteo Berrettini joining him on the practice court.
The two great friends shared a picture after their session, with Matteo leaving a comment "Step by step with the best." The more experienced Italian will not compete in Cincinnati, recovering from an injury and hoping to compete at the US Open.
Sinner will seek deep runs at both events, lifting two titles a year ago and defending 3000 ATP points. With Carlos Alcaraz having nothing to defend, the race for the ATP throne is on at the final Major event of the season.

Despite missing three months of action and four Masters 1000 events earlier this year, Jannik is still the world's best player. He increased his advantage over Alcaraz following that heroicvictoryin the Wimbledon final.
The Italian is 99-9 since the start of 2024, dominating the rest of the field and conquering four Major titles from five finals. Sinner is 27-1 at the previous four Majors, winning the US Open, the Australian Open and Wimbledon.
He had a chance to complete a Career Grand Slam in Paris, winning the opening two sets against Carlos and creating three match points in the fourth set before falling 4-6, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 7-6 in five hours and 29 minutes.
