Goldberg is inching closer to his long-awaited WWE return, and the Hall of Famer just gave fans a promising update on his physical condition ahead of his retirement match.

After months of speculation and internal talks within WWE, the 58-year-old wrestling icon is serious about going out on his own termsand GUNTHER may be the man standing across from him when that happens.

During a recent episode of the Carcast podcast, Goldberg broke his silence with a brief but hopeful status report. I feel a little bit better, Ive gained a little bit of weight man. Done a little kickboxing on the weekends. Im getting there man, Ive got a little bit of time left. Slowly but surely, Rome wasnt built in a day.

Goldberg also revealed that hes currently injury-free, which could pave the way for his first match since losing to Bobby Lashley at Crown Jewel 2022. Believe me, its been really tough to control myself but I think Im on a good schedule. Im injury free as of right now.

As for his shoulderone of the key areas thats kept him sidelinedGoldberg compared his rehab to restoring a classic car. Much better. I mean, geez, I can do things with it I couldnt do anything with it in December. Its one of those things its like rebuilding a car. Youve got to strip it down to the bare minimum and sequentially build it in a logical form. It applies with a vehicle, it applies with your body. I cant get overzealous and put shit on before its time. Its a very slow process but I think the way Im going about it is hopefully gonna work.

With Goldberg previously confirming that his retirement match will take place in 2025 during the summer, WWEs booking decisions over the next few months are suddenly under the microscope. It being speculated that GUNTHERs upcoming match against Jey Uso on the June 9 episode of RAW could lay the groundwork for a final showdown between the Ring General and Goldberg, especially coming off their intense face-off at WWE Bad Blood.

If Goldbergs latest comments are any indication, hes not just preparing physicallyhes determined to finish his career on his own terms, and WWE could finally be giving him that platform.
