WrestleMania is no longer heading to the Big Easy in 2026.
Despite a flashy on-air announcement earlier this year featuring The Rock revealing New Orleans as the official host city for WrestleMania 2026, WWE has quietly changed course.
In a statement provided Thursday to Wrestlenomics, the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation confirmed that the show has been rescheduled to an unspecified future year.
WrestleMania which will move from the currently scheduled 2026 timeframe to a future year, the foundation revealed in a joint statement with WWE.
While no reason was given for the shift, WWE fans can still expect a major event in New Orleansjust not that one. Instead, Money in the Bank will be coming to the city in 2026 as part of whats being described as a multi-event, multi-year agreement between local organizers and TKO Group Holdings, the parent company of WWE and UFC.
The statement also confirmed UFC 318 is locked in for July 19, 2025, at the Smoothie King Center, showing that TKO still sees value in the New Orleans market. A specific date for Money in the Bank 2026 hasnt been confirmed yet, but the show typically lands in June or July.
WWE hasnt released its own formal announcement or provided comment as of now, but the foundations statement was labeled as a joint message from both parties.
The sudden shift leaves one major question: where is WrestleMania 2026 going instead? WWE has yet to name the new host city. With the company aggressively securing multimillion-dollar site fees and state tax breakslike the $5 million Las Vegas paid for WrestleMania 41 and the $7.1 million New Jersey is handing over for this years two-day SummerSlammoney likely played a big role.
WrestleMania was originally scheduled for April 11 and 12, 2026, at the Superdome, which previously hosted the event in 2014 and 2018.
