Pat McAfee took a serious beating from GUNTHER at WWE Backlash, and it appears the aftermath could impact his role on WWE Raw. Despite Michael Coles attempts to lend a hand during the match, GUNTHER maintained control and dominated McAfee throughout the contest.
Byron Saxton provided an update on the official Backlash post-show, revealing he spoke with McAfee after the match. According to Saxton, McAfee said, Im good, but Saxton wasnt convinced that was the full story. He added that McAfee might be feeling okay in his head and his heart, but physically, the beating from GUNTHER may have left him worse for wear.
Jackie Redmond also addressed McAfees status, noting that its unclear if hell be in the commentary booth for Raw this Monday. The show is set to take place in Louisville, Kentucky, with CM Punk, Finn Balor vs. AJ Styles, and a tag team bout featuring Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY against Roxanne Perez & Giulia all confirmed for the lineup.
McAfee and Cole have been the Raw commentary duo since the start of the year when the show moved to Netflix, but with McAfees condition now in question, there could be a shake-up in the broadcast booth.
