Former AEW World Tag Team Champions Max Caster and Anthony Bowens look to be starting a new journey in their respective careers as the men formerly known as The Acclaimed have become free agents. It had been reported in recent weeks that both Caster and Bowens were nearing the end of the AEW contracts and that there had been no signs of the any discussions regarding new deals. Now Fightful Select have confirmed that the two men have officially entered the free agency pool after six years with All Elite Wrestling. However, Fightful were also told by AEW sources that Caster and Bowens are remaining on the AEW roster page on the company's website as there is still a possibility that they end up staying with the company. Another AEW source noted that the tragic events of the last couple of weeks that have seen both Andy "The Butcher"Williams and Benjamin "Pac" Satterley both pass away might have caused any chances for negotiations with Caster and Bowens to be pushed back. Both men have taken to social media separately today to confirm that they are free agents, with Caster posting a screenshot of the Wikipedia definition of "free agent,"while Bowens posted a simple one sentence message.During their time in AEW as The Acclaimed, Caster and Bowens were regarded as one of the most popular homegrown acts in the company at one point in time. They became AEW World Tag Team Champions in September 2022 and held the titles for five months, before fully teaming with "Daddy Ass" Billy Gunn and winning the AEW World Trios Championships at AEW All In London 2023 at Wembley Stadium. They would hold the titles for eight months before losing them to The Bang Bang Gang, and would gradually move towards a break-up angle that saw the two men go their separate ways by the beginning of 2025.However, neither of their respective singles runs went according to plan, and Bowens would eventually be part of The Opps until his contract expired, while Caster was gradually phased out of the company and primarily worked on the independent scene throughout 2026.
