The March 6, 2026, episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown went down at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. The location wasnt anything special, but they certainly used it to host a huge episode for the blue brand. Nick Aldis booked Drew McIntyre in an Undisputed World Title match after Elimination Chamber. He didnt like how McIntyre got involved and cost Cody the main event match. That set the stage for this weeks show, and everyone was on the edge of their seats. This match received a big fight feel at the end of the night. Mark Nash gave both competitors an incredible pre-match introduction, and Cody Rhodes had a vast majority of the crowd behind him. When the time came, McIntyre kissed the title, handed it over, and the match started. The two brawled all over the ringside area and up the ramp before they returned and confined the action in the ring. Drew McIntyre was able to table control of the situation, but Cody Rhodes was a resilent challenger. There were a were near falls along the way. Cody was able to nail a Cody Cutter, but McIntyre avoided a Cross Roads. Then Drew gained control once again by using the ring post to his advantage. The match kept going and Cody Rhodes got a table out. Then Drew set it up at ringside and he put Cody through it with a powerbomb. The referee didnt call for the bell and that was very surprsing. Then Drew McIntyre hit a Crossroads on Cody Rhodes, but the American Nightmare kicked out. Drew McIntyre pulled the referee in the way of Cody Rhodes. Then, with the referee down, the match kept going. It was apparent that fans were waiting for something to happen as the match kept going, and then another referee came down and counted a near fall before McIntyre got in the referees face and then he ran Cody into the post and then he headbutted the referee and he got a steel chair. Jacob Fatu showed up to take the chair away. Cody Rhodes almost got the pin, but Drew got out and nailed a Future Shock DDT and he missed a Claymore Kick. Then Cody hit a Cody Cutter and a Crossroads to get the pinfall and win the title. We will have to see whats next on the road to WrestleMania. The company is already on the fast track to booking the show of shows at this point, and its anyones guess what they will do. With Cody Rhodes as the Undisputed WWE Champion once again, Drew McIntyre is going to have a different match after all.
