Big E may still be part of WWE programming, but the former WWE Champion says a full-time commentary job isnt something hes eager to jump into right now. Speaking with The Takedown on Sports Illustrated, Big E addressed the growing fan support for him to take a weekly role behind the broadcast desk. While the idea has come up internally within WWE, he made it clear that the demanding travel schedule tied to the position is a major factor in his hesitation. Big E admitted the opportunity has been discussed, but he isnt ready to return to the nonstop travel that comes with being part of WWEs weekly touring schedule. Despite turning down the idea for now, Big E revealed that several people within WWE have supported the idea of him moving into a commentary role, including longtime announcer Michael Cole. For Big E, the biggest issue comes down to lifestyle. After spending years traveling constantly during his in-ring career, hes grown to appreciate life away from WWEs intense touring schedule. Big E explained that once he stepped away from the grind, he quickly realized how much he valued the stability and time away from the road. Although he may not want a full-time commentary position, Big E said hes grateful for the opportunity to remain connected to WWE through his appearances on premium live event pre-shows and post-shows. Big E has remained a respected figure backstage since stepping away from in-ring competition, and his presence around WWE programming continues to draw strong support from both fans and talent.
