WWE Survivor Series: WarGames was a giant show this year in Petco Park. San Diego was the site of Stephanie Vaquers next Womens World Title defense. Nikki Bella was around to make sure she had a hard time.
Stephanie Vaquer and Nikki Bella had been aligned for a short time, but that ended when Bella turned heel and attacked Vaquer after a title defense and turned on her. The next week, Bella attacked Vaquer again and said she did not return to be her partner. Bella then demanded a title match, which was set for Survivor Series: WarGames.
Nikki Bella made her way to the ring in San Diego, her hometown. Dominik Mysterio is also from the city, and he won the IC Title from John Cena in the previous match. That being said, it is interesting that WWE was able to book two matches in a row where the heels were San Diego natives.
Stephanie Vaquer was the overwhelming fan favorite in this match, despite the fact that she wasnt even performing in her home country. This match also had a big fight feel to it, thanks to Alicia Taylors amazing ring introductions. It should be noted that Nikki resided from Arizona in her ring introduction to maintain her heel heat.
Nikki Bella was on top for a good chunk of this match, as Stephanie Vaquer sold to the WWE Hall of Famer. This also slowed things down as Bella soaked in the crowds heat. Nikki Bella had control of the match for a while, but things turned south for her.
Eventually, Stephanie Vaquer got Nikki Bella outside the ring, and she hit a Devils Kiss on the announce table. Then she returned to the ring and hit another Devils Kiss and a corkscrew moonsault to win the match.
