The rise of Jannik Sinner in the last two and a half years has contributed to the growth of the entire Italian movement, with numerous emerging talents who have fully expressed their potential. The 24-year-old from Sesto Pusteria has made a truly extraordinary improvement starting from the second half of 2023, making an impressive step from all points of view and becoming the new leader of the men's tour together with his huge rival Carlos Alcaraz.
The Italian and the Spaniard have shared the Grand Slam titles in the last two seasons, proving to be much superior to the competition and creating a duopoly that is unlikely to be broken in the near future.
Jannik had a truly amazing 2025 despite the three-month ban that was imposed on him by WADA, once again showing that mental strength that everyone recognizes in this guy. The current world No.2 has won six titles this year, including two Grand Slams, a Masters 1000 and the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin for the second time in a row. Although he had to miss four Masters 1000 between February and May, Sinner conquered this season just 550 points behind his main rival in the ATP rankings.

Musetti opens up on Sinner
During a long interview with 'La Repubblica', world number 8 Lorenzo Musetti explained that Sinner has also helped his compatriots to improve: "He will never be an enemy for me, but a champion who shows the path to follow for all of us. Jannik is a point of reference and I am inspired by him, even if we have a different game and we are different in many ways."
Musetti also added: "We walk on different but parallel paths, without forgetting that everyone matures at their own pace. We both learned to handle pressure, as there have always been huge expectations on us."
Lorenzo and Jannik faced off in the quarterfinals of the US Open this year, with the former world No. 1 putting in a sensational performance.
