Brodie Lee Jr made waves this week after boldly claiming in an interview with The Wrestling Classic that his longterm goal is to retire Cody Rhodes. The teen, son of the late Brodie Lee, said he wants to carry on his fathers legacy, become a pro wrestler, and one day end the career of the Undisputed WWE Champion.
During the interview, Brodie didnt hold back about the future match he wants more than anything.
That clip made its way to Cody Rhodes on November 26 and the champ wasted zero time responding in the most Cody Rhodes way possible. Cody posted the video to Twitter, added a confused ????, followed by a joking shot at Brodies hype machine:
He paired the tweet with a GIF of 50 Cent clutching his chest in mock disbelief. For many, this wasnt trash talk it was a playful nod. Cody and the Huber family have a long, emotional history, and Codys reaction shows hes taking the teens ambitious declaration with humor and love, not hostility.
Still, the idea of a grownup Brodie Lee Jr stepping into a WWE ring years from now to go after Rhodes? Fans are already fantasybooking it like its destiny written in the clouds. If Brodie Jr really does follow in his fathers footsteps, this clip might go down as the first chapter in a future wrestling storyline that writes itself.
