Novak Djokovic ended his 2025 season without participating in the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, missing the chance to equal his old rival Roger Federer with 17 appearances in the last ATP event of the season. The former world No.1 was serious about heading to Turin this year, but suffered a shoulder injury during the Athens ATP 250 in the previous week and preferred not to risk it further.
After lifting his 101st career title by beating Lorenzo Musetti in the Greek capital, the Serbian legend announced his decision to end his season prematurely with the aim of not overloading his body too much.
The 38-year-old from Belgrade has clinched two titles in 2025 and has been particularly consistent in Grand Slam tournaments, having become the oldest player ever to reach the semifinals in all Majors within the same season.
Djokovic continues to amaze
Despite his very short schedule, Nole occupied the third position of the ATP Race for some time and showed that he can still compete at the highest level by defying every law of physics. He is perfectly aware that he will need a miracle to win another Grand Slam title, especially if two young champions like Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner continue to play this way, but he still has no intention of giving up and wants to be a protagonist next year as well.

Djokovic has achieved theamazing feat of closing the 2025 season among the top four players in the ATP rankings. The veteran from Belgrade spent 808 weeks in the Top 4, surpassing Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal even in this special ranking.
During a recent interview, the 24-time Grand Slam champion expressed his desire to continue playing until the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028 so that he can represent his Serbia for the last time. This means that Nole would like to compete at the highest level until he is 41 years old, following in the footsteps of other legends such as Cristiano Ronaldo and LeBron James.
