Eva Lys made a terrifying revelation as she claims a stalker recently managed to find the addresses of the places she was staying and the individual followed her everywhere before she reached out to the WTA authorities, who then made sure to take measures that would ensure the German's safety.

Lys has been one of the more positive stories of the 2025 season. It all started when she lost in the Australian Open qualifying - stayed in Melbourne for a couple of days - and ultimately rewarded for it after being called up as a lucky loser at the last moment. The rest is literally history as the 23-year-old ended up making her first Grand Slam round-of-16 and becoming the first lucky loser since 1988 to make the last-16 stage at the Australian Open. Following her run in Melbourne, she also broke into the top-100 for the first time in her career.

Since then, Lys has established herself as a regular participant in the main-level events, and she is now enjoying a career-high ranking of No. 40 in the world. But her newfound fame also brought certain negativity intoher life.

Lys: Obsessed stalkers got a hold of my addresses

Ive recently had to deal with stalkers who managed to get hold of the addresses of practice sites, hotels and even my room numbers. They were apparently obsessed with me. That crossed every possible line," the 23-year-old told Die Zeit.

This was not the only stalking case that occurred this year on the WTA Tour. If you can recall, a terrified Emma Raducanu burst into tears and hid behind the chair umpire's desk in Dubai after recognizing a stalker in the crowd. After looking distracted during one of her US Open matches, Karolina Muchova revealed that she noticed her ex-boyfriend in the stands, who was "following me everywhere."
