The Nixon Newell AEW walkout drama just took another turnand now shes personally speaking out to shut down the rumors.
According to Fightful Select, Newell directly denied reports that she had any sort of backstage disagreement with Megan Bayne during the AEW Collision match. When asked specifically about the rumored tension, Newell gave a short but direct response:
However, when Fightful followed up and laid out more specifics regarding the alleged argument, Newell did not respond back further before the update was published.
This all stems from reports that Megan Bayne was visibly frustrated during the matchapparently due to communication issues and unexpected resistance from Newell and Alize during key spots. Bayne, being positioned as a powerhouse in AEW, was said to be frustrated that she was made to sell for unsigned talent. Some in the locker room reportedly agreed, questioning the creative direction of the match.
Another AEW source claimed that Newell was unhappy with the way the match was structured, particularly the idea that Bayne would be booked to sell their offense. According to reports, Bayne had no control over that callit was a creative decision.
The match ended up being a lightning rod for controversy. Newell and Alize were scheduled for another Collision bout against Tay Melo and Anna Jay but left the building after being told they only had three minutes for their match. AEW quickly pivoted and used Hyan and Maya World instead, who were praised for stepping in last minute.
Miranda Alize seemed to tease that the story isnt over, writing so much to say on social media without elaborating. Meanwhile, some AEW locker room voices defended Newell, saying she was just let down by how her debut was handled. Others suggested she seemed disengaged before the bell even rang.
With Nixon Newell now denying any rift but not fully addressing the Megan Bayne allegations yet, the story remains clouded in uncertainty. Ringside News will continue to keep you updated with information as it becomes available.
