Jannik Sinner will compete for his first Paris Masters crown on Sunday. The Italian dismantled the defending champion Alexander Zverev 6-0, 6-1 in 62 minutes for a place in his ninth Masters 1000 final of the season.
Jannik will seek the first title at this level since Shanghai last year against Felix Auger-Aliassime. Zverev prevailed over Daniil Medvedev after saving two match points on the previous night.
He experienced an injury and had nothing left in the tank for an in-form rival less than a day later. Thus, he suffered one of the most brutal defeats of his career and missed a chance to fight for the trophy.
It was all about world no. 2 from start to finish. Jannik dropped seven points behind the initial shot and faced no break points. Alexander dropped 60% of the points in his games and suffered six breaks from nine chances offered to his rival.

Jannik tamed his strokes superbly and landed 23 winners and 12 unforced errors. He reduced Zverev to six direct points and had the advantage in service winners and from the baseline.
The German hit only seven unreturned serve, having to work hard for every point against an in-form rival who did not let him breathe. Sinner ruled the more extended rallies 27-8 and had the upper hand in the shortest ones to sail over the top in style.
The Italian served well right from the start and provided three breaks in the opener for a bagel. Zverev denied a break point in the first game of the second set to end his downfall and het his name on the scoreboard.
Jannik stepped in on the return and secured three straight breaks to emerge at the top and reach the title clash.
