WWEs return to Salt Lake City for Saturday Nights Main Event wasnt exactly the home run they were hoping forand thats not just based on fan reactions. Backstage, theres real frustration over how low ticket sales were for the show at the Delta Center.
According to Fightful Select, the internal reaction has been less than enthusiastic, with one source calling the turnout very disappointing. The report noted that attendance dropped by nearly half compared to WWEs visit to the same city 11 months ago. Even more glaring? The crowd was significantly below WWEs average for 2025.
A source in WWE indicated that last nights ticket sales in Salt Lake City were very disappointing. It was a huge drop or nearly half from 11 months ago, and less than half of the average for the year. There were a lot of fans moved down, which is common across all wrestling companies, including AEW and TNA when sales arent good. The update also mentioned that the upper tiers were opened back up after being tarped off the night before for SmackDown, which ended up drawing only 4,226 fans.
WWE was banking on a big night with CM Punk vs. Jey Uso for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship and Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Title. Even the WWE Womens Championship match between Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill, and a triple threat for the Intercontinental Title, couldnt save the live gate.
Despite the loaded card, the turnout was tough to ignoreespecially with WWEs year-to-date average sitting at 12,272 per show. The Delta Center barely cleared 7,800 distributed tickets, and that included some aggressive seat relocation to make the crowd look fuller on TV.
If WWE was hoping for a hot night in Salt Lake City, what they got instead was a cold reminder that not every market deliverseven with star power.
