Aryna Sabalenka reveals Novak Djokovic threw out a double-date idea during their practice session and that's how they went out with their respective partners.

After the US Open, both Sabalenka and Djokovic went to Greece - the Belarusian tennis star was there with boyfriend Georgios Frangulis for a vacation, while the Serbian tennis giant recently moved his family to Greece. After stumbling upon each other in Greece, the two tennis superstars figured out it would be nice to practice together. But it didn't end there as a couple of days later, the top-ranked WTA player uploaded a picture on Instagram that quickly made rounds within the tennis community.

Sabalenka: Djokovic was like, 'Let's go for the date'

Hmmm Actually we saw each other on the courts. We were practicing. I dont remember. We were just practicing together. We were at the same place. He was just like, Yeah, lets go for the date. Thats how it happened. So Novak," the reigning US Open champion explained at the WTA Finals in Riyadh when asked if she could share how the double-date with the Djokovic family happened.

After lifting the US Open title and ensuring she would not finish the year without winning a Grand Slam, Sabalenka credited Djokovic's advice for helping her mentally overcome her Australian Open and French Open final defeats. In Riyadh, the Belarusian also explained how exactly the Serb helped her.

"How to stay settled and how to look at everything as you're looking from the outside on the situation on the court, off the court. Just to, like, be able to sit back and look at everything. Kind of like it's not you looking, it's someone else looking at your situation. I think that's the best lesson that you could take from Novak," the WTA world No. 1 said.

Sabalenka is now aiming to make it all the way at the WTA Finals and win the season-ending tournament for the first time in her career.
