Lorenzo Musetti seems to have regained his certainties after expressing a level below expectations in the last two tournaments, particularly in Brussels, where he admitted that tension and pressure were affecting him.

The world number 8 has set himself the huge goal of qualifying for the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, where he would have the chance to compete with the best players in the world in front of his home fans. The talent from Carrara deserves to reach this milestone this season, which represents the best of his career in terms of continuity (although he has not lifted a single trophy).

The 23-year-old Italian has matured from all points of view and the fact that he has become a father has further empowered him, as evidenced by the results he obtained especially during the spring (on his beloved red clay). He also had a few injuries during 2025 and couldn't play his best tennis for most of the summer, but he found his rhythm again during the US Open where he reached the quarterfinals for the first time in his young career.

Musetti hasregained his certainties

Lorenzo is playing in the Vienna ATP 500 this week and has qualified for the quarterfinals, after defeating Argentine ace Tomas Martin Etcheverry quite easily yesterday. He will face French player Corentin Moutet today for a place in the semifinals in the Austrian capital, having to be very careful with the latter who eliminated former world number 1 Daniil Medvedev.

"I definitely got an important win against Etcheverry and I'm very satisfied with my performance, but I absolutely don't want to stop here" - said Musetti to the microphones of 'Sky Sport Italy'. "My next opponent will be Moutet, who is a fairly atypical and insidious player. I have to admit that he impressed me against Medvedev, but at the same time he lets you play and I tend to play my best tennis just when the rallies get longer he added.
