Peter Avalon just revealed he went under the knife againthis time for a meniscus and ACL procedure on Tuesday, October 21.
The AEW original shared the news on social media, marking his second surgery this year. He previously underwent rotator cuff surgery back in April.
Avalon hasnt competed inside an AEW ring since December 2024. However, he did appear once on ROH programming via HonorClub in October of that year, teaming with Preston Vance in a one-off showing.
Avalon, real name Peter Hernandez, has been with AEW since day one in 2019. He debuted as part of the Librarian gimmick alongside Leva Bates, which quickly became known for its oddball presentation and heavy losing streaks on AEW Dark. That led to a comedic feud with Brandon Cutler, as both men desperately chased their first AEW victory.
Avalon eventually dropped the librarian act and rebranded himself as Pretty Peter Avalon, a vain and over-the-top persona that gave him a bit more screen time. He later helped form The Wingmen with Ryan Nemeth, JD Drake, and Cezar Bononian undercard faction that ran from 2021 through 2023.
Before his AEW days, Avalon worked under the name Norv Fernum in TNA between 2013 and 2015. He also made a lone WWE appearance in 2017 on SmackDown Live as Adam James.
Avalon hasnt provided a timetable for a potential return to the ring, but with two surgeries in the same year, the recovery road will be a long one.
