The man accused of stalking WWE star Liv Morgan will not be facing trial next month after all. A new court filing has officially pushed back the proceedings into early 2026.

According to an unopposed motion filed this week, Shawn Chan the Canadian national charged with one count of interstate domestic violence will now likely stand trial in January 2026 instead of November. Chan has been in custody since his arrest in June and has repeatedly been denied release pending trial.

The motion filed before the court explained that further psychiatric evaluation is needed before the case can proceed.

The criminal complaint against Chan lays out disturbing details of his behavior. On May 26, 2025 the same day he was issued a passport Chan flew from Scarborough, Ontario to Orlando, Florida, telling customs officials he planned to stay at the WWE Performance Center, which has no housing facilities. Four days later, he traveled several hours to Liv Morgans home, where he was seen on surveillance footage circling her property multiple times.

He then entered through her backyard, attempted to open her front door, picked up an air rifle from her porch, and left behind a handwritten note containing his full name, Canadian address, and phone number. The note read, in part:

Chan was arrested by the FBI on June 3 after WWE security recognized him from Morgans home surveillance footage and alerted authorities. He was formally indicted on June 25 and faces up to five years in prison if convicted.

The trial delay means Chan will remain behind bars for at least two more months while the defense and prosecution conduct additional mental health examinations.

This latest development prolongs an already tense legal saga thats left Liv Morgans personal security under constant review.

Do you think the court made the right decision to delay the trial for more mental health evaluation, or should it have moved forward as planned? Share your thoughts in the comments.
