The fallout from AEW WrestleDream is about to hit Dynamite in a big way. The October 22 episode, live from San Antonio, Texas, will feature two huge title matches along with the reveal of the bracket for AEWs first-ever Womens Tag Team Championship tournament.
AEW confirmed that the long-awaited womens tag tournament details will finally drop on Dynamite. While no specifics were given on the number of teams or when the tournament will officially kick off, fans will at least get their first look at how the bracket shapes up.
Fresh off WrestleDream, The Hurt Syndicate will get their earned title shot after winning a tornado trios match at the pay-per-view. Shelton Benjamin, Bobby Lashley, and MVP are now set to challenge Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata, and Powerhouse Hobbs for the AEW World Trios Championships. This comes just days after Joe, Hobbs, and Shibata turned their backs on Hangman Page to strengthen their alliance as The Opps.
Another major match has Kazuchika Okada putting the AEW Unified Championship on the line against Bandido. The challenge was inevitable after Bandido pinned Okada with the 21 Plex at WrestleDream, handing the champion a rare defeat. Okada now looks to settle the score with the gold on the line.
AEW Dynamite lineup for October 22 in San Antonio, Texas:
- AEW World Trios Champions The Opps (Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata & Powerhouse Hobbs) vs. The Hurt Syndicate (Shelton Benjamin, Bobby Lashley & MVP)
- AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada vs. Bandido
