Russell Westbrook has signed with an NBA team, but Patrick Beverley thinks the situation is not fair.

Only a week out from the NBA season tip off and Westbrook has signed with the Kings on a $3.6 million vet minimum deal.

But, Pat Bev thinks Russ deserves way more than a vets minimum and that he got an unfair rep with the Lakers that has followed him ever since.

Its f*cked up what happened to Russ, bro, Beverley said on his podcast. On God, its f*cked up what happened to Russ. And Russ got a bad take because of that Lakers team. Thats the truth, broEver since Russ left the Lakers, bro, hes been on a minimum, bro. Weve never seen this ever. Weve never seen a player whos been the MVP, whos impacted the gamewho they call him names and tell him that he cant shoot. Go to the playoffs, shoot 40 with the Clippers the very next year. Take a less demeaning role with the Lakers. Take a less demeaning role with the Clippers. Hes been a sixth man ever since hes left the Lakers. Hes a starting point guard in the NBA. Hes arguably one of the top three point guards to ever play the game. You tell me this man cant get on a team all because hes passionateall because he stretches with the team every single f*cking practiceall because if its a team out, hes there all the f*cking time. All because if you talk to anyone around the league, Russell is the best teammate I ever have.

In case you forgot, Westbrook was demonised in LA and used as somewhat of a scapegoat.

Nasty rumors circulated. Westbrook was called a vampire of the locker room by someone on the Lakers and the media turned against him.

He also struggled to fit seamlessly with Lakers stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis, before he was traded traded to the Utah Jazz in 2023 and was bought out of his contract, joining the Clippers later in the 2022-23 season.

Many fans agree with Pat Bev, that Russ deserved better.
