Belinda Bencic may have won her Ningbo round-of-16 match but she was still targeted by angry bettors and received some pretty disgusting messages.
On Wednesday, the sixth-seeded Swiss tennis star survived a pretty tough day at the office after needing three and a half hours to beat 131st-ranked qualifier Yulia Starodubtseva 5-7 6-4 7-5. As if having a tough day at the office wasn't enough, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medalist also had to deal with hateful messages.
In the first screenshot shared, Bencic revealed that someone wished her to be raped.

In the third screenshot, Bencic sarcastically remarked that one "nice person" just called her a loser without adding much more.

In the Ningbo quarterfinal, Bencic meets the winner of the match between Jasmine Paolini and Veronika Kudermetova. The 28-year-old Swiss is making her Ningbo debut this year and she is seeking to win her second title of the year.
