There was a title shakeup during the October 15 episode of WWE Evolve, a special edition of the show titled Successionand it involved a rising name from WWEs NIL program making her biggest move yet.

While Jackson Drake successfully defended his Evolve Championship in the opening match against Bryce Donovan, the second match of the night delivered a title change. Kendal Grey is now your new WWE Evolve Womens Champion after defeating Kali Armstrong in a high-stakes showdown.

Armstrong had held the title since May 28, when she became the inaugural champion by beating Grey, Wendy Choo, and Kylie Rae in a four-way match. Now, that same opponent has come full circle and taken the title from her.

Grey, whose real name is Peyton Prussin, has been gaining traction in WWE recentlyespecially after her strong showing in this weeks NXT Womens Championship #1 Contender Battle Royal. Grey made it to the final four before getting eliminated, with Tatum Paxley winning the match.

Her background speaks for itself. A three-time NAIA champion for Life University and a 2023 finalist for USA Wrestlings Womens Wrestler of the Year, Grey was signed as part of WWEs third NIL class and made her in-ring debut earlier this year.

Now, with the Evolve Womens Championship in her hands, shes adding gold to her resume. Kali Armstrongs reign may have ended, but it helped set the tone for what this division can become. With names like Grey on the rise, the future of WWE Evolve looks even more competitive.
