Pro wrestling figures are still a hot ticket item for collectors. It turns out that some people will go pretty far to snag a haul of figures, and that includes breaking the law.

Two people were arrested in San Diego after police found shelves of stolen WWE action figures. Other retail goods were also found during a search which were related to an ongoing theft investigation.

On October 2, officers with the San Diego County Sheriffs Department executed a search warrant at a residence on Gold Coast Drive. Inside the home, they detained 36-year-old Brittany Gomez and 52-year-old Miguel Dominguez.

According to a statement from the Sheriffs Office, and photos released by the department, the search led to the recovery of stolen merchandise from retailers including Target and Walmart. The items included hundreds of WWE action figures, some removed from packaging and displayed in toy wrestling rings, while others remained in original boxes stacked from floor to ceiling.

Police say the items were allegedly stolen with the intent to resell. It is unclear where the couple planned on unloading their stolen treasure trove of unboxed figures.

The arrest is part of an investigation into retail theft across that region. Gomez and Dominguez were booked into Vista Detention Facility on felony charges, including grand theft, possession of stolen property, and theft of merchandise exceeding $950.

Some WWE action figures have significant resale value, with rarer items like early Andre the Giant or prototype Hulk Hogan models selling for thousands of dollars. We will have to see if there are any updates for these figures, but it appears that they will be evidence for now. Only time will tell if they ever end up in the hands of actual collectors
