Nicolas Mahut expressed concerns over Carlos Alcaraz's intense schedule heading into the final stretch of the 2025 season. The French praised world no. 1 for maintaining a remarkable level after the US Open.

However, the doubles specialist questioned whether such a demanding run of tournaments could impact the young Spaniard's physical condition in the closing stages of the season and ahead of 2026.

Alcaraz took a short break after liftinghis sixth Major crown in New York before heading to San Francisco for the Laver Cup. The Spaniard added seven points for Team Europe in their defeat.

The 22-year-old took another flight east and entered the ATP 500 event in Tokyo, competing in the Japanese capital for the first time. Despite an early scare, Carlos bested five rivals and lifted the eighth trophy in a career-best season.

Alcaraz withdrew from the Shanghai Masters to preserve his body. However, he will enter the Six Kings Slam, Paris Masters, ATP Finals and Davis Cup Finals by the end of November.

It's a heavy sequence, but the Spaniard handleseverything nicely at the moment. Carlos has built a massive lead over Jannik Sinner in the year-end no. 1 battle, hoping to keep his incredible form in the closing stages of the year.

The young gun suffered a left ankle sprain in the opening match in Tokyo. He recovered and passed all five tests to claim a trophy. However, he did not want to push his body and chase another crown in Shanghai.

Thus, he showed signs of managing his workload wisely. Carlos will take a couple of weeks off the court and recharge his batteries ahead of the Six Kings Slam in Riyadh.

At only 22, the El Palmar native has learned quickly about the balance between ambition and preservation. World no. 1 and his team are fully aware of the physical toll of constant competition.

The young gun is eager to chase the missing Major trophy and a Career Grand Slam at 22!

"Carlos has been holding his own since the US Open. My only concern with him is the pace he imposes on himself because of his packed schedule. He played the Laver Cup and one tournament in Asia before heading to Saudi Arabia for the Six Kings Slam.
