
Carlos Alcaraz conquered the Tokyo Open on his first visit to the Japanese capitalm besting Taylor Fritz 6-4, 6-4. The 22-year-old claimed his 24th ATP title and the eighth in a brilliance season that only gets better!
The Spaniard defended 500 ATP points from Beijing last year, keeping a commanding lead over Jannik Sinner in the ATP Race. Carlos has played his ninth straight final since April and lifted the seventh trophy.
Fritz defeated Alcaraz at the Laver Cup in San Francisco. However, world no. 5 could not repeat that in Japan and claim his second trophy, especially after injuring his left leg.
The American received a medical timeout after the opener and played with his right thigh bandaged. He fought well and pulled one break back when his rival served for the win at 5-2 in the second set.
However, world no. 1 provided a hold at 5-4 to seal the deal and celebrate another trophy in his historic season. The Spaniard saved two of three break points and kept the pressure on the other side.

He created nine break points and secured three breaks to control the scoreboard and move over the top. Both players struggled behind the second serve, and Alcaraz made the difference on the first.
The Spaniard grabbed the opener with a break in game nine. He moved 5-1 in front in the second set against the rival who reduced his pace and celebrated the title with a hold in game ten.
