Iga Swiatek took the opening set without a lost game against Camila Osorio before the 83rd-ranked Colombian was forced to retire against the top seed in their Beijing third-round match.
Right out of the gate, Swiatek claimed a break - and although she faced some big trouble in the second game - she managed to take it after saving three consecutive break points. After the Pole earned two additional breaks in the third and fifth games to go 5-0 up, Osorio requested a medical timeout and received it off the court for what appeared to be a leg issue.
When the play resumed, Osorio had a break point but didn't manage to convert it as the top-seeded Pole bagged the first set with a 6-0 scoreline. That's when the Colombian walked to the net and retired.
Just like Swiatek, Emma Navarro also progressed through a retirement
No. 16 seed Navarro was also in action earlier today. Playing against this year's French Open semifinalist Lois Boisson, the American tennis star routinely took the opening set with a 6-2 scoreline after earning two breaks and not losing her serve once.

Before losing the first set, Boisson took a medical out for a leg issue. After easily losing the first set, Boisson also got broken in the first game of the second set. That's when the Frenchwoman decided to call it a day.
Now, everything is set for a Swiatek and Navarro battle in the Beijing round-of-16. The Pole has a 2-0 head-to-head against the American.
