John Cena was in the house for a big speech in front of his home state fans.
The September 15 episode of WWE RAW included a few big segments. Fans packed the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts, and they got to see John Cena one last time.
John Cena is on his retirement tour, and Brock Lesnar is going to be his opponent at Wrestlepalooza on September 20. That being said, the Greatest of all Time was on hand this week for RAW.
Cena kicked off WWE RAW this week, and fans in Massachusetts were more than excited to see him. After all, he hails from West Newbury. He also played football at Springfield College. After Cena quieted fans down a bit, and Alicia Taylor announced the never seen 17, he got on with his promo.
John Cena spoke about how Springfield College prepared him for WWE, and he also had old teammates and family members in the crowd. It was a packed house in Springfield. Then he directed his attention to the tall hill to climb he has at Wrestlepalooza.
After Cena pointed out that Lesnar wanted to end him, chants of f*ck you Lesnar, and Cena told Netflix that they were saying talk to Lesnar, so they shouldnt bleep it. John Cena then answered why he took this match against Lesnar, and chants of whoop his ass came out of the crowd.
He said that saying no to that match against Lesnar would be safe, smart, and easy, because he only has six appearances left. Chants of thank you, Cena came out of the crowd as he explained that there is why I say yes, because I am the last year champion. Cena said he doesnt fight battles backstage, he does it in the ring, and thats why he took the Lesnar match.
John Cena said he is scared of Brock Lesnar, but that wont stop him. He will stand up to the Beast Incarnate on September 20, and that will be a battle for the ages.
Wrestlepalooza will be a very fun premium live event, as fans in Indianapolis will certainly go all out as they get to host the historic first-ever event. Not only will it be WWEs first PLE on ESPN, but it will be one of the rare stops left on John Cenas farewell.
