Tim Henman doesn't think we have seen the last of Novak Djokovic as the former British six-time Grand Slam semifinalist believes the Serb will want to at least give another shot to the Australian Open.

On Friday, Djokovic faced the same fate as he did in all the previous three Majors this year - he exited in the semifinal. After retiring injured to Alexander Zverev in Melbourne and picking back-to-back French Open and Wimbledon semifinal defeats to Jannik Sinner, the 38-year-old Serb got bounced 4-6 6-7 (4) 2-6 by Carlos Alcaraz in the US Open semis.

By failing to make it all the way at Flushing Meadows this year, Djokovic went two full seasons without winning a Grand Slam - his record-breaking 24th Major came in New York exactly two years ago. The former world No. 1 has had several very deep Slams runs since then but he simply hasn't had answers for Sinner and Alcaraz.

Henman asked on Sky Sports to predict Djokovic's future

"I think he will (play again). I think he will give it one more year at the Australian Open. Thats where hes had his greatest success. So I think he will have one more attempt down there. But maybe he doesnt even know at this stage," Henman answered.

As mentioned above, Djokovic is still one of the most consistent players on the biggest stage. But two players have become a major obstacle for him.

"Novak faded fast but its another incredible performance from a 38-year-old to make four Grand Slam semi-finals. It was a step too far as it has been all year," Henman added.

At the Australian Open, Djokovic has never lost a final and he is a record 10-time champion there. In the last two years, the Serb made back-to-back semifinals - lost to Sinner last year and retired versus Zverev this year.
