How much would you spend on a piece of sports history? For one collector, the answer was $12.9 million on a one-of-a-kind 2007-08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Michael Jordan-Kobe Bryant Logoman card.
At Heritage Auctions, the card just became the most expensive sports card ever sold at public auction.
The card, which features NBA uniform logos and the autographs of both legends, drew 82 bids before the hammer finally came down.
THE MOST EXPENSIVE CARD OF ALL TIME
The 2007 Exquisite Kobe/Jordan Dual Logoman 1/1 Auto has just sold for $12,932,000 making it the most expensive sports card of all time.

The final price tag broke multiple records. It surpassed the $12.6 million paid for a 1952 Mickey Mantle card back in 2022, and it blew past the previous high for a basketball card, the $5.2 million paid for a 2003-04 Exquisite Collection LeBron James Gold Rookie Patch Autograph.
Heritage Auctions director of sports auctions Chris Ivy called it the finest modern basketball card in the world.
He explained that while the card was already projected to smash records, competitive bidding made the final number historic.
When the auction opened, Heritage estimated that the card would sell for $6 million, still an NBA record, Ivy said. But the competitive bidding drove up the price.
The timing made the moment even more meaningful. The sale closed on August 24, widely known in the basketball world as Mamba Day, honoring Bryants numbers 8 and 24.
While the Jordan-Bryant Logoman now holds the crown for sports cards, it sits just behind another iconic piece of memorabilia. Only Babe Ruths 1932 World Series called shot jersey, which sold for $24.2 million last year, ranks higher on the list of most expensive sports collectibles ever sold.
