John Cenas shocking heel turn at WWE Elimination Chamber had fans talking, but even he knows it didnt land the way it was supposed to.
The WWE legend stunned the world when he turned on Cody Rhodes and aligned himself with The Rock and Travis Scott in one of the wildest closing moments of the event.
But weeks later, on the March 17th episode of WWE RAW, Cena returned to explain his actionsonly to get a mixed response from the crowd in Belgium. The fans werent ready to boo their childhood hero.
Speaking at Fan Expo Chicago via Pop Verse, Cena addressed that response and didnt sugarcoat how things went down.
Cena eventually walked away from the storyline, revealing before SummerSlam that the move was all about generating a jaw-dropping moment for TV. But when The Rock never returned to continue the angle, Cena found himself stuck trying to salvage a narrative that never had a proper follow-through.
Now, Cena is moving onset to battle Logan Paul at WWE Clash in Paris. But for a guy whos used to delivering in big moments, this one didnt quite stick the landing.
