AEW star Eddie Kingston has opened up about his long road back from the devastating leg injury that has kept him out of the ring for more than a year.

Speaking on Cezar Bononis podcast, Kingston revealed that while he isnt yet medically cleared, he personally feels ready to fight and is just waiting for the green light. Kingston explained that despite feeling physically strong in sparring matches, hes still completing physical therapy sessions to rebuild his strength.

Beyond the physical grind, Kingston stressed that his return to AEW TV also depends on creative timing and booking decisions. He made it clear that its not just about being healthy, but also about the right story being in place.

Kingston has been sidelined since May 2024 after suffering a broken leg, a torn ACL, and a torn meniscus during his brutal No Ropes Last Man Standing match against Gabe Kidd at NJPW Resurgence. Recently, he posted a photo showing that he has resumed in-ring training, giving fans hope that his comeback is near.

Eddie Kingstons fighting spirit has never been in question, and while the wait continues, it seems only a matter of time before The Mad King makes his return to AEW and New Japan. Fans now wait for the day that call finally comes.

Do you think Eddie Kingston should be eased back into a major storyline right away, or should AEW let him rebuild slowly after such a serious injury? Share your thoughts in the comments.
