Jannik Sinner is a happy camper on his 24th birthday! The Italian has been on a roll in the previous two years, dominating men's tennis and writing history books. Despite his rise, Jannik is not eager to embrace comparisons with the sport's greatest champions.
Asked about parallels with Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray, the 24-year-old showed respect while making it clear he prefers to stay on his own path toward greatness.
Sinner did not want to compare himself with the Big 4, admitting they are on a different level. Instead, he is writing his own story while chasing more records and tennis immortality.
Jannik is 106-9 since the beginning of 2024! He has dominated men's tennis and claimed four of the previous seven Major titles, including all three on hard courts. The San Candido native left everyone behind in 2024.
He collected eight ATP titles, six notable ones, and secured his first year-end no. 1 honor. Not stopping there, Sinner defended the Australian Open crown this January, extending his streak ahead of three-month suspension.
Like he never took it, Jannik returned stronger in May and fought against Carlos Alcaraz in the finals in Rome and Roland Garros. He lost them but kept pushing ahead of Wimbledon.
The 23-year-old conquered the field at the All England Club, becoming the first Italian with a Wimbledon crown. Jannik is chasing another crown in Cincinnati, making the final preparation ahead of the US Open.
Sinner has built a reputation for consistency and composure. His words about his legacy reflect on humility and ambition. He admires the icons who shaped modern tennis, but with determination to define his career and challenge their records.
While his journey has only started, Jannik's vision toward tennis greatness is crystal clear!
"It's an honor for me, but I can not compare myself to the Big 4. They are on a different level. However, I'm happy to create my own story because I want to leave my mark and be able to write my name in history," Jannik Sinner said.
