Vince McMahon is under fire once againthis time not from a boardroom or locker room, but from behind the wheel. The former WWE Chairman was involved in a multi-car crash on Connecticuts Merritt Parkway last week, and now were learning even more troubling details about his history behind the wheel.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, McMahons wild driving style has been something of an open secret for decades. While the recent crash left both cars totaled, it also reopened long-standing concerns from people inside his inner circle. One source said that those close to McMahon were never surprised by stories like this. In fact, they deliberately avoided riding with him.
This wasnt some new behavior brought on by age. The source mentioned that McMahon has always been this way, going back decades. There had been speculation that McMahon wasnt behind the wheel much anymore, but another insider cleared that up quickly.
They added a telling detail about why McMahon insists on driving even now:
The accident occurred when McMahon, reportedly speeding between 8090mph, crashed his 2024 Bentley into the back of a 2023 BMW driven by Barbara Doran. She shared her experience in a detailed Facebook post, explaining how she was on her way to catch a ferry to Marthas Vineyard when McMahons car slammed into her rear. Doran described the terrifying moment she was sent flying off the road:
She also said a state trooper was already attempting to pull McMahon over for weaving through traffic when the crash happened. The officer later told her that McMahon swerved at the last second, hitting her rear rather than colliding head-onsomething that likely saved her life.
McMahons Bentley was destroyed. The airbags deployed, and both front wheels were torn off the vehicle. Fortunately, no one was killed. He was later issued a misdemeanor summons for reckless driving and following too closely. He is expected to appear in court late next month.
With sources now shedding light on Vince McMahons long-known habits behind the wheel, this crash feels less like a fluke and more like a disaster that was waiting to happen. While no lives were lost this time, the concern around McMahons behaviorboth past and presentis very real.
