Charlotte Flair has always faced a lot of criticism from fans for various reasons, especially when it comes to her looks. Unfortunately, Flair has now revealed how she was once body shamed very badly after she came back from COVID.
While writing in thePlayers Tribune,Charlotte Flair talked about returning at the Raw after WrestleMania 37. She had been off for six weeks because she got COVID. During that break, she focused on getting healthy and finally got in the best shape of her life.
Flair said she lost around 25 pounds, became leaner and more toned, and felt amazing. Flair said she has always been a bit insecure about how she looks, so she was really proud of the work she did and how she looked that night.
However, when she checked her phone, she found thousands of Twitter notifications. Instead of people talking about how fit she looked or how well she performed, most of the comments were just body shaming her.
People were guessing what kind of plastic surgery she had, saying things like What happened to Charlotte Flair? or Her whole body is fake, and even joking she looked like her dad in a wig.
The Queen of WWE said shes dealt with stuff like this her whole career and tries not to take it too personally. She knows being famous and working in a job where her body is on display means people will say things. She doesnt expect anyone to feel sorry for her.
Even then, Flair finds it crazy that fans today seem to know everything about wrestling, both what happens on TV and behind the scenes, yet they forget the simplest thing: shes not really Charlotte Flair and thats just the character she plays.
This comes after Charlotte Flair defended herself from criticism that she is in the title picture way too much. Regardless, we do hope people stop attacking Flair like this as many fans feel its simply unwarranted and just unnecessary.
Whats your take on Charlotte Flairs raw honesty about body shaming and her struggle to separate herself from her on-screen character? Sound off in the comments.
