Weeks of speculation about Britt Bakers AEW future just got addressed directly by Tony Khanand it sounds like the conversation about her leaving mightve been exaggerated from the start.
During the 2025 AEW All In media call, Rick Ucchino asked Khan about conflicting reports regarding whether Baker wants out of the company. Khan said he has never had a conversation with her about leaving AEW. He also made it clear that he likes Baker and values what she brings to the company.
Khan pointed out that the company has a limited number of spots available on its weekly programming, comparing it to a sports roster. He explained that while professional wrestling allows some flexibility, AEW avoids trying to cram too many talents into their shows just to give everyone screen time.
He noted that AEW has talented people on their bench who can be brought in when the time is right and used the sports comparison again, describing it like making substitutions. In Bakers case, Khan said AEW plans to use her when the time is right.
This update matches what was recently reported that Baker is still under AEW contract and is not actively looking to leave. In fact, due to injury time, her current deal could reportedly extend into 2027.
There were previous creative discussions about Baker having a major match at Double or Nothing, but its unclear whether that ever reached her. Sapp also speculated that her return could happen at AEW All In: Texas, possibly in the Casino Gauntlet matchbut nothing is confirmed.
Between Khans public remarks and the latest contract insight, the message is clear: Britt Baker isnt leaving AEW anytime soon, and her return is just a matter of timingnot tension.
Do you think AEW is waiting too long to bring Britt Baker back to TV, or is this a smart way to build anticipation? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
