Jamie Hayters injury hasnt just kept her off AEW TVits officially changed the companys plans behind the scenes.

During the AEW All In media call on July 8, 2025, Tony Khan confirmed that Hayter is out longer than expected, and her absence directly impacted AEWs creative direction. While he didnt give a timetable for her return, Khan acknowledged that the injury caused the company to shift gears and bring in new talent to fill the void.

One of those shifts involved Ring of Honor, which Khan described as both a complementary brand to AEW and a standalone promotion. He said several call-ups were made due to injury-related issues across both AEW and ROH, and praised Queen Aminata for stepping up and making the most of her opportunity.

Khan also revealed that he had hoped to start the ROH Pure Championship tournament sooner, but that plan was delayed due to unrelated injuries. Still, Hayters extended absence was part of a broader domino effect that reshaped plans across both companies.

This confirms what Dave Meltzer previously reported on Wrestling Observer Radiothat Hayter was legitimately injured during her Double or Nothing match against Mercedes Mon, and the post-match angle with Tecla was created to give her a storyline reason to disappear from television.

AEW has yet to announce when Hayter will return, but Khan made it clear her absence forced real changes that affected both rosters.
