R-Truth and Carlitos WWE departures have left fans stunned and social media in chaos. Despite both men still appearing on televisionCarlito involved in an active storyline with The Judgment Day, and R-Truth featured regularly in comedic segmentsWWE informed them that their contracts would not be renewed.
According to the June 2, 2025 episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that the decision came directly from Paul Triple H Levesque as part of internal roster management. These werent disciplinary moves or creative misstepsthey were business calls.
Carlitos release in particular raised eyebrows, as he was mid-program with consistent screen time. Yet according to Meltzer, the directive was clear: WWE needed to trim down, and Triple H made the final call.
The company has yet to release an official statement, but the backlash has been immediateand fierce. Whether that will affect future decisions remains to be seen.
