Mariah May isnt just in NXTshes officially locked in.
After shocking fans with her surprise appearance on the June 3 episode of WWE NXT, Fightful Select has confirmed that May has signed a multi-year contract with WWE.
Sources within WWE kept the deal tightly guarded until the last minute. According to the report, a very tight circle knew officially that May was on board ahead of time, and the script for her debut segment wasnt relayed to talent until just before it aired live. WWE made sure the surprise stayed under wraps.
Her debut came at the height of chaos in the NXT womens division. As the ring overflowed with contenders calling out new champion Jacy Jayne, the lights droppedand there stood May on the balcony, owning the moment. She declared, Im the next NXT Womens Champion, as the crowd erupted.
It was also noted that WWE has been moving talent around in anticipation of the move, signaling that Mays arrival is part of a broader shift within NXT. Several stars have already transitioned to the main roster, making room for new names like hers to step up.
While WWE hasnt confirmed whether shell keep using Mariah May on television, its believed that the name is hers to use if both sides agree. So far, she hasnt been named directly on NXT programming.
Now that her signing is official, the clock is ticking on when May steps into the ring. But one things clearshe didnt come to play a supporting role.
