Ever since WWE acquiredMexican lucha libre promotion AAA, many fans wondered if that meant there was a chance Alberto Del Rio was going to make his WWE return. While speculation about his WWE future runs rampant, it appears those friendly with Del Rio believe hell definitely return to WWE.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, people who are friendly with Alberto Del Rio say his relationship with WWE is fine and hes expected to return to WWE eventually, but just not yet.
We have already reported that Alberto Del Rio remains signed to AAA andWWE will just be inheriting that contract eventually, but he will not be a part of the upcoming WWE x AAA Worlds Collide event on June 7th.
AAA already announced a match between Alberto Del Rio and El Hijo del Vikingo for an event on May 31st, ahead of the WWE x AAA Worlds Collide event. This shows that AAA still views Del Rio as an important name in the company.
Theres no official date set for Alberto Del Rios WWE return yet, but things are looking positive for a potential return in the future. If he stays strong in AAA and fan interest keeps growing, a return to WWE seems likely. For now, hes still with AAA and according to those close to him, its only a matter of time before hes back in WWE, so well have to see if he does come back to WWE one day.
